On Saturday, property owners/developers, artists, Downtown Tucson Partnership and volunteers gathered to begin sprucing up Toole Avenue. Why? A long held dream by many Tucson artists is coming to fruition. Warehouses are being transformed into visual and performing arts spaces, boutiques and shops and restaurants. Planters were installed and meticulously hand-tiled, trees were planted, art was created and warehouse facades were transformed. Tucson now has an arts district downtown.
