Last Monday found me out of town. I discovered that I was mourning my weekly walk. Tucson’s newest urban phenomenon and one of our city’s extraordinary gems, Meet Me at Maynard’s, had to do without me. This Monday nighttime run/walk finds hundreds of locals (and often out-of-town guests) engaging in conversation, physical fitness, food, fun and more. Our divine and tireless founder and leader Jannie Cox, has created something very special for all of us. She has smartly connected with local businesses for sponsorships and deals that provide benefit for everyone involved. The weekly event is into its third year and it remains family-friendly and free. Last Monday was special, though. My new-found friend, Denise, had completed her 100th walk, making her a member of the elite Century Club. Way to go, Denise!
Check it out. Hope to see you there. At Maynard’s. And don’t forget to tip the band!
Such an exciting new blog about downtown Tucson, Keith. I subscribed so I’ll get your updates. So great that you included Meet Me at Maynard’s….I mourned that I couldn’t be there last week either. It’s definitely a great way to start each week!
What an amazing community! Keep it going!!!
