Coffee & Architects…Yum!!!

11 Jul

Two stories today.

When I was in the 7th grade, taking drafting class, I wanted to be an architect. Years later, part of me still wants to. Tucson is blessed with some amazing architects and designers – you should know the work of Rob Paulus, Ibarra Rosano and Repp Design, among others. I find myself drooling over their work all the time. Did you know that UA’s Architecture program is among the best in the nation? They’re ranked 11th overall. We reap the benefits by UA architecture grads staying in town to create modern, efficient, artistic beauty all around town!

I love coffee. My favorite coffee comes from a micro roaster in Puerto Vallarta. For a time, I was enjoying the coffee at Tooley’s downtown.  I got to hear Marianne Dissard here for the first time.   Friendly staff. Chill vibe. Fantastic coffee. Hip Portland band Pink Martini raved about the place! Only to become a victim of our recent progress downtown. Which is why I am looking forward to opening day at Sparkroot, across the street at One North Fifth. I can’t wait to see the completed work of Tucson’s awesome Repp Design. And, I am looking for an exceptional cup of coffee at a place where I can hang out.

How funny I loved drafting class too! I also love coffee, imagine that. Next time I come for a visit you will have to take me downtown again so I can have some amazing coffee and dessert with you. Sorry about your red bag you wanted, I learned along time ago that if I see something I like you need to grab it right away =), sometimes people are right next to you waiting to grab it if you aren’t going to buy it. LOL. MIss you !!!
    Love, Julie
