This IS progress!

Consider this. In little more than one year ago, downtown Tucson did not have the following:
The Hub. Steak in the Neighborhood. Downtown Kitchen & Cocktails. 47 Scott. Monkey Burger. Empire Pizza. And that’s just the eateries! Businesses are moving in and some housing is being created. Mercado San Agustin has opened. Here are some things that are on the near horizon: Sparkroot, Chocolate Fox, Sycamore on Congress. Another restaurant to open on Broadway. A restaurant and a market in the San Agustin complex. Four student housing complexes have been approved. One is currently being built. Perhaps this act alone may preserve the integrity of nearby neighborhoods (and limit or rid ourselves of mini-dorms). A second senior housing complex is being built on the westside. Ground has broken for the Santa Cruz bridge. UA architecture students will learn here soon. The Plaza Centro garage plans an opening the end of summer. TEP employees plan to move in to their stunning new LEEDS structure before year’s end. A boutique hotel, apartments, retail and a new Greyhound station have been approved to build on some land near Congress and I-10. What’s next?
