What’s up?

19 Dec

Mr. An is on again? Once committed to downtown, he pulled out of a project on the southwest corner of Broadway and Fifth. That place will quickly become home to Kade Mislinski’s Playground. Landscapers were among the many workers spotted there today, greening an outdoor patio. The windows are covered, but I believe I eyed swings hanging from the ceiling as well as an inkling of a mural on one wall. Across the street, at One North Fifth, An plans an An Express. Not to be outdone, An has also hired Fors Architecture to design the interior. In other news, Tucson and Pima County have agreed to a five year plan for the Friends of Tucson’s Birthplace to move ahead with the Mission Garden project. Irrigation lines are going in this month, with pathways and parking in January. In February, 100 Kino Heritage fruit trees, descendants of historic plantings, will be planted. Our long-awaited history is beginning to be realized in this unique portion of the Heritage Park!
