Yeah, we’re all that!

Kade, you’ve done it again! You and your team have made downtown Tucson the place to be. Playground opened Thursday night with a frolicking and jovial celebration. Tucsonans of all ages and varieties reveled in the uniqueness of the playful space. From the rooftop (are we in a treehouse?), we could gaze at the amazing sunset or the bright lights of Congress Street businesses AND get our pics taken on the red carpet! The genial bartenders in the main bar were dressed in their best school clothes, eager to provide top notch service to waiting customers. The Cinema Bar on the patio showed films where people could sit on comfy cushion seats (are they ball and jacks? are they a merry-go-round?). You can google addresses of parks around the country etched into the cool mahogany and metal bar while seated inside. Huge (read TALL) club seats make you feel like a little kid while conversing with friends. Metalwork is featured in many areas – including the handcrafted moveable front doors facing Congress – built by the local folks at Myrmo and Sons. Fantastic job, guys!

Yesterday I posted the February 21st entry in on the Tucson Murals blog ( http://tucsonmurals.blogspot.com/ ). It shows the murals on Congress Street outside Playground before and after the opening — and also has a link to ILOVEDOWNTOWN.
