A River Runs Through It

13 Jun

When it rains, that is. Join us on Sunday, June 24 at the Santa Cruz River, west of Congress, for Dia De San Juan. We will dance & pray for rain. With the exception of last year, the dances and prayers have been seen and heard! Rain fell the following day! The landscape has changed since last year’s Festival. Sentinel Plaza is nearing completion. The Luis G. Gutierrez Bridge continues to take shape – street lights and decorative canopies are installed. The canopies will cast shadows on the walkways, highlighting our heritage and history. By months end, the bridge should be open to walkers and bikers!

Lighting and artistic metal canopies hover over the bridge and above the Santa Cruz River.
