Don’t Fence Me In!

3 Dec

Over the last several weeks, more fences have come down around the Modern Streetcar Project. More rail has gone in. More infrastructure continues. Poles are going in and stations are being built. Access for cars, bicycles and people has increased. While Phase One nears completion, Phase Two is well on its way.

Work is now being done on Park Avenue near the University and Granada downtown. Phase Two is mostly about taking care of the curves in the line.

Work continues on Congress in front of the Fox Theater.  Work on the near horizon includes Broadway Avenue, where a through lane for traffic is expected.

By week’s end, ALL of Fourth Avenue will be re-opened and all rail in. Just in time for the annual Street Fair. Speaking of the Street Fair, switchbacks have been built in the line to accommodate our twice yearly events!
