It’s A Tucson Holiday Tradition

15 Dec

Want to treat yourself to some holiday cheer with a Tucson twist? Two events take place this weekend that are uniquely Tucson. From December 14-16, Mercado San Agustin holds its annual Holiday Bazaar. Patterned after European Christmas markets, it features local artisans and entrepreneurs selling their special gifts. The event is held from 11-6 daily. Tonight, you won’t want to miss the annual Parade of Lights downtown. Our Mayor kicks off the event with a tree lighting ceremony in the plaza in front of the library at 5:45. The parade kicks off at 6:30. This year’s route runs through the El Presidio district of downtown Tucson, giving the parade an uniquely historic flair. The most fun? All the decorated old firetrucks that take part! A great and FREE way to celebrate the holiday!
