Ahem. Well, it appears that Urban Fresh is alive and well after all. Don’t judge paper covered windows by their, uh, cover. I look forward to checking out their fresh vegetarian fare soon.

On my weekday bike ride this week I sighted: a paver walkway being installed between Rialto & Cadence, workers @ Cadence building out the retail structures, beautiful wood bar and seating being built in Oak Bar. Workers progressing in Saint House and Tap & Bottle. Historic apartments on Corral, across from St. Augustine Cathedral, are being redone. Broadway is being paved. More housing begins in Mercado District. El Rio has their ground breaking. Artwork installation has begun in the streetcar stops.

Meanwhile, the building that housed the quiet, zenlike Musicland for so many years, has been sold. Chris Black and sheet music has moved into Chicago Music Store space.
