Rumor Has It

5 Jun

Here’s what I heard yesterday. The Musicland building is to become home to a recording studio. The Wig-O-Rama building will be rebuilt. No word on when or what’s to come. Paula Poundstone will be pleased. Sapphire is still open, in remodeling phase. I heard that the new name will be H20 and that the rooftop portion will be extended over the Wesley Miller building, with a pool built above Junxion.  I cannot confirm any of these stories.

Meanwhile, The Saint House plans an August opening and One East Broadway is taking reservations for the apartments looming above RTA and right across the street from a streetcar stop. Apartments start at $670 and up. Residents will move in this November. This is the first mix-used building of its kind in the downtown area. Talks include the possibility of a coffee bar, bike company and restaurant as retail offerings at street level.

Cadence, Level (both opening in August) and One East Broadway will bring one thousand new residents living in or near Tucson’s downtown.
