Summer Celebration Weekend

10 Jul

IMG_2722You won’t want to miss tonight’s party @ MOCA. Edible Baja, southern AZ/northern Mexico’s local foodie magazine, has quickly become the largest publication of its kind in North America. They’re celebrating their 2nd anniversary tonight with food trucks, local beer and wineries, and music by Tucson’s incredible cumbia band Vox Urbana! If you’ve not heard this band, it’s worth the trip downtown just to listen (and dance)! The site is at MOCA, where the container pools have opened to members (Hey – why don’t you join?!) Amidst all the festivities, you can get the latest issue of Edible Baja or copies of the newly released book, Unprocessed, written by managing editor Megan Kimble.

Tomorrow is another rendition of Second Saturdays Downtown, which just gets bigger due to all the bustling of businesses. Where will you find me? At an art show opening @Artful Living, 1 E. Broadway, or maybe my second look at the fantastic art show @ Etherton, or stopping in to Johnny Gibson’s Downtown Market. Yup. They hope to have doors open for Second Saturdays.  Maybe I’ll even use my Summer in the City card.

Who said there’s nothing to do in Tucson in July?
