Downtown Update

28 Sep

As you can see by the new header, artwork by local arts and crafts folk is being installed at our Modern Streetcar stations, with signage going up as well. Cartel Coffee Lab has opened at the corner of Broadway and Herbert. The Herbert’s website is up, you can schedule a private tour of the new digs, or join them for their Grand Opening party on October 11, from 4-7, where they’ll have beer tastings, wine, food and entertainment. The look from the outside is sleek, the floor to ceiling windows reflect the Tucson sky!  Unplugged, the new wine bar on Congress, featuring Old World wines, opened last Saturday. Three more homes are being built in the Mercado District, w. of I-10. Work is ongoing at the recording studio on Congress, H2O nightclub, and The Hub, Park Avenue and Junction @ Ironhouse student housing high rises. Reilly’s beer garden opens soon – outdoors. Connect, a coworking space, has opened @ One North Fifth. You can rent by the day or the month, and network with like-minded budding entrepreneurs! Sixth Avenue is officially two-way, into and out of downtown.  I spied work on Chris Bianco‘s place when I cycled by yesterday!  Can’t wait to try his renowned pizza!
